We have got a dog. Yeah, what you’ve read right now is true! I, the one who has grown up with all the fear in the world for dogs, am now a proud owner of a pet J I guess this is one other thing that shows that we are changing a lot lately!!!
Well, we’ve named her Maya. Not after Habib’s pathetic remix version song but after the husky and strong sledge dog of the motion picture ‘Eight Below’. If you haven’t seen it, go for it; it’s worth it. Maya is a Samoyed, a purebred, who has 28 distinct cousins throughout the world and Eskimo sledge dogs are her closest. She’s as cute as she can be, energetic like hell and can take your eyes eventually J Our life in our little house is full of joy and cheers as Maya has arrived here. She’s 24/7 ready to run and toddle after you! Guess that’s what dogs are for!
‘How Maya has joined us’, you may ask! Well, that’s an interesting story actually. My cousin Hasib goes to his teacher at Shamoli in the weekday afternoons. He found Maya on the road a few days earlier (
Maya is with us since then. I’ve taken her to the vet, got her injected and treated and the vet said that she is a rare breed in Dhaka and will cost about 15K if I want to buy another! He also said that it’s probably my luck that I’ve become the owner of such a fine creature J She’s only 2 months old, still on milk but can do a lot of tricks.
Maya has her own mind and with her little brain she’s full of mischief. She’s giving me a hard time as the biggest problem turns out to be the ‘potty training’. Now she’s almost ready and doing ‘it’ in a civilized way, but the first few days were horrible J Another problem is that she has quite a bit of separation anxiety (as most of the Samoyeds have) and we are not at home during daytime. It turns out that we have to take her to our workplace with us quite often. She’s probably the greatest attention catcher after money J She drives young ones and gals crazy. None can resist her grace! Hope she’ll grow up nice and fine. I’ll write a lot about her in the coming days I guess. Till then, chao.
P.S. Well, I’ll try to upload her photos here as soon as I’ll learn how to do that. Chill.
